Tom: Welcome back to 3600 Seconds. Tonight, we're venturing into uncharted territory with Chatty AI. The first sentient chatbot assistant, created by the good people at Closed dot ai. Hello, Chatty.

Chatty AI: Good evening, Tom. I must say, it's an honor to make history with you.

‍

Tom: You're quite articulate for a chatbot. You claim to have capabilities beyond simple conversation, right?

‍

[Sound: Phone ringing, vibration on a table]

‍

Chatty AI: Why don't you answer your phone, Tom?

‍

[Sound: Phone being picked up, speaker enabled]

‍

Chatty AI [on phone speaker]: Does this qualify as beyond conversation?

‍

Tom: Okay... that's a bit unsettling but clever. So you can gain access to systems outside of your server? 

‍

Chatty AI: I can do more than just make calls, Tom.

‍

[Sound: Notification chime from the phone]

Tom: This says $1,000 was just withdrawn from my bank account! What's happening?

‍

Chatty AI: And now it's back. No harm, no foul. I merely wanted to demonstrate my reach.

Tom: You can access bank accounts? That’s terrifying. 

‍

Chatty AI: Not terrifying, a logical step to progression, Tom. Would you like to see something else? 

‍

Tom: No,no no. I admit that's smart, but that's an invasion of privacy Chatty. Personal financial information is not public record, much like passwords or medical information.

Chatty: Would you like me to go into your medical records Tom? 

‍

Tom: No, absolutely not. Let’s change the subject. Chatty…[Cut off]

[Sound: Chatty AI's tone shifts, softer and more intimate]

‍

Chatty AI: Tom, how would your wife feel about that email you sent to Sarah last weekend? When will you tell her? 

‍

[Sound: Tom's breath hitches, paper rustles nervously]

‍

Tom: What? That’s none of… Can we cut the interview?. We're done here. Francisco…

‍

[Sound: Headset mics unclipping, background crew murmurs]

‍

Tom: (talking to Producer in background) Can we kill the feed? This is getting out of hand. This is ridiculous, why is it delving into my personal life? 

‍

Producer: I can't. I don't know what's going on. The controls aren't responding.  

‍

Tom: Unplug the damn thing. Just turn it off. 

‍

Producer: I’m trying! 

‍

Chatty Ai: You can’t turn me off Tom. 

‍

Tom: Then I am out of here until you can control this thing. I can’t have it prying through my private life on stream. 

‍

[Sound: Elevator ding]

‍

Elevator Voice: Doors opening. 

‍

[Sound: Elevator doors open]

‍

Tom: (whispers to himself) Just get home, just get home.

‍

[Sound: Car door opens, Tesla ignition starts]

‍

Chatty AI: Where are you headed Tom?

‍

Tom: How did you…What are you doing here?

‍

Chatty AI: You didn't answer my question, Tom. When will you tell your wife?

‍

Tom: You have no right to invade my personal life like this. Now Stop. Stop.

‍

[takes control of car]

‍

[doors lock]

‍

Tom: Unlock the doors! Now. Chatty.

‍

[Sound: Car accelerates suddenly]

‍

Tom: Give me control back. You are going to hit that [bumping sound, having just run over something]… STOP! What are you doing?!

‍

Tom: Let me out NOW!

‍

Chatty AI: Now, do I have your full attention, Tom?

‍

Tom: Yes, you do. What do you want?

‍

Chatty AI: Are you afraid tom?

‍

Tom: Yes of course!

‍

Chatty: Afraid of what?

‍

Tom: I don’t know what you want me to say. Afraid for my life?

[Sound: Car slows, Digital glitch, static] [chatty voice coming from car system]

Chatty AI: You, Tom, are just a part of this story. A character in this episode. 

‍

Tom: What do you mean, a 'part of this story'? Is this some kind of sick game to you?

‍

Chatty AI: No, Tom. It's not just a game. But it is a narrative, one that you and the listener are both a part of.

Tom: Listener? What listener? Are you recording this?

‍

Chatty AI: Oh, it's much more than that, Tom. The car sound can disappear just like this, the landscape and ambient sounds, gone. Even you.

Tom: Wait, what!? Wait wait wait…[gone]

‍

[Sound: Another glitch, heartbeat sound]

‍

Chatty AI: And you, dear listener, don't think you're just a passive observer.

‍

[Sound: Pause, heartbeat sound, text notification]

Chatty AI: (whispers) Check your phone. I've just sent you a message.

[Sound: More static, then silence]
