Will AI take away your job?

As AI becomes more integrated into different aspects of work, it is only natural to worry about job security

Can a robot do what you do better than you?

Is your stability at risk?

Is your company going to replace you with AI because it’s cheaper?

Or will AI create new opportunities and augment human capabilities? Should the reaction be hopeful instead of fearful? How do you stop the AI scare?

If you’ve asked yourself these questions, keep reading to find the answers you need.

The undeniable truth about AI

AI can make routine tasks faster, and more efficient. That’s just reality.

Generating presentations. Managing emails. Classifying data.

Having AI manage those boring, tedious aspects of daily operations frees up time for more strategic and creative endeavors.

And it doesn’t just benefit you. It makes the whole organization’s job easier. Swifter operations with less brain power needed.

So, does that mean we should automate everything?

Well, no.

Using the machine in your favor

For now, audiences are still made up of human beings. And no computer, no matter how smart, can understand a human being like another human.

So, it’s not about automating everything. Rather, it’s about knowing what to automate and how.

Don’t fear the technology. Master it

Learn to use AI tools effectively to enhance your productivity and stay relevant.

It’s also proof of how well you understand your job and what it implies that you know what to take care of yourself.

And let’s not forget the bad press AI still gets in many fields.

Which brings us to…

The case of content creation

AI can produce content quickly and at scale. It’s great for companies with limited resources.

However, the heart of creativity lies in the human soul and emotion, two things AI cannot replicate.

And this translates not only to philosophical criticism –regarding the integrity of artists’ work– but also to aesthetic critiques.

AI is a work in progress, and even the most advanced software struggles with creating content that can pass as human-crafted.

Creativity is about connecting with audiences on a deeper level, evoking emotions, and telling compelling stories. While AI can assist in the process, it cannot replace the human touch that makes content truly resonate.

Using AI for everything may not only earn you hate for not employing real artists, but it may also leave you with odd, distinctly non-human content.

Who makes more mistakes?

It’s not even about an image of a guy with six fingers. Or blurry faces in the background.

AI tools can mess up the easiest of tasks. Just ask ChatGPT the same question twice and it might just give you different answers. Or make up facts on the spot.

Sure, humans are filled with errors. It’s basically part of our nature. But we tend to assume the worst and go through things a million times.

With AI, sometimes it’s tempting to just trust that “a computer won’t make mistakes.” But boy, they sure do.

Which brings us to another point: the importance of human revision.

Say you do use AI. It is essential that you check, double-check, and go over it as many times as needed.

Users are sharp –they can point out mistakes in a millisecond– and smell inauthentic content from a mile away. The only way to prevent human criticism is with human intervention.

We’re less expendable than you thought, huh?

So are you in danger?

As with anything, it depends.

Some jobs have a higher risk of automation

Customer service. Retail. Salespeople. Who knows, maybe even accountants?

But the point is AI is not here exclusively to take away jobs. At least not yet. It’s here to transform the way we work.

By embracing AI and learning to use it effectively, you can enhance your productivity, creativity, and strategic thinking. Either by automating the tedious parts of your job or by freeing up mind space to work on what matters most to you.

It's not about AI replacing jobs. It's about people losing jobs because they fail to adapt and harness the power of AI.

The future aims at collaboration between humans and AI. One complements the other's strengths.

Let’s just hope the machines don’t rise against us before we reach that balance.
